After the French evolution, the republic would like to have a secular ‘church’ for themselves, so they decided to build the Pantheon. In the crypt they bury their own heroes, like Marat, Voltaire, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Victor Hugo, Marie and Pierre Curie. In the church there is a curious apparatus called Foucault’s pendulum
